Hobey Moss and the European tour

October was a crazy buys and amazing month for us Voyagers! We went up to the Crozon foil festival which is North western France. It was an amazing time with the crew and an amazing event put on by the organizers, however we all had our serving of humble pie! It was great though, and always necessary to eat some every once in awhile. After Crozon finished, we headed down to Barcelona to meet our new friend Albert who is based out of there to put on a Voyager Downwind camp in Costa Brava. It was a beautiful time. Teaching and sharing our experience with an enthusiastic and positive group of foilers is always soul refreshing. After we wrapped our camp, we jammed over to Saint Tropez for a race Fred Bonnet put on, and it was invigorating to downwind the Mediterranean in some lively bumps that reminded us of home! We share our stories, experiences and reflections of the great times we had, hope you guys enjoy!

Kawika Drummond aka Children of the Free World

Kawika is an original Kaiko Psycho! It was great to catch up with him, talk about his story, catching up on life, exploring new adventures and growth with the SUP and discussing philosophies with health and wellness. We use to foil a lot together in the early days during our prone foil and Kaikos run phase, loading up and spilling out of the back of pickup trucks, jumping off the rocks into the water at the start of our kaikos run having each other backs, and sharing many voyaging hours out there in the Hawaiian waters. Kawika’s passion and contagious stoke and froth for foiling and downwinding flowed nicely with our enthusiast community, and a lot of respect was earned as he was never afraid of humble pie and paying his dues! Enjoy his story and our shared conversation!

Ed Junquet, Kekai Alferes and the parallels of Downwind foiling and Jiu Jitsu

Ed Junquet (Jeff Spicoli on instagram) was out in Hawaii for a week and scored great winds blowing 15-25mph his whole stay here. He was downwinding the Hawaii Kai run every day with all the voyagers, and sending numerous times a day logging a lot of miles, seeing the patterns, acclimating to Hawaiian voyaging, and training Jiu Jitsu at night like a true savage! Jiu jitsu and foiling have always been so similar in everything. The learning curve, the community, the humility, the constant progression, the constant variables, the mental aspect, and the list goes on and on. Ed, Kekai and i discuss the fun analogies of jiu jitsu, life and downwind foiling concepts and principles. Have a listen and enjoy our shared conversation!
